The programs of the Department are divided into the following three main professional groups based on the specialties and research interests of teachers: 1. Integrated Circuit and System Application, 2. Network Multimedia and Game Machine, and 3. Intelligent Robot. The characteristics of each group are described as follows:

1. Integrated Circuit and System Application:

Based on integrated circuit (IC) technology, students have capabilities as chip design, IC layout, IC devices/process, electrical energy converting, and circuit applications/integration. The teaching resources have support from Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI). The program currently is an important subject in Taiwan’s industry. The students will be enhanced to have capabilities in micro-electron and cross-domain integrations after training.

2. Network Multimedia and Game Machine:
The principal direction of development is on “Interactive Technology,” focusing on the integrations of multimedia, gaming, and high-speed computing technologies, covering courses such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Game Engine Development, Parallel Computing Servers, Embedded System Design and Development, etc. Laboratory facilities for practical courses are as follows: Computer Graphics and Games Labs, Microcomputers and Cross-disciplinary Integration Application Labs, Home Care Robot Labs, and Electronics Experimentation Labs. In addition, we have several projects and curriculums collaborated with companies from Smart Manufacturing, Internet of Vehicles, and AI industries. From this, we lead our students in solving industry challenges and effectively help the immediate employment of our students upon graduation.

3. Intelligent Robot:
Our professional courses are well arranged to achieve industrial skill and knowledge requirement. On the base of artificial intelligence and information technology, it is integrated with multi-disciplinary mechatronics system as our major development goal. It includes artificial intelligence software programming, information technology, AIoT, ROS, image processing, mechatronics, intelligent robots, automation mechanics design and control, production automation process, etc. The laboratories contain Navigation & Control of the Intelligent Robot Lab., System Integration and IC Design Lab., Smart Sensor & Supervisory Control Lab. and Embedded Processor & SOPC. Besides, students can join our internship programs in nearby industrial parks such as Central Taiwan Science Parks, industrial parks, etc.
